Cloe graduated from Goldsmiths college with a degree in fine art and history of art, then she travelled through europe and the middle east,which lead to her working on film sets in Israel. This in turn lead to her becomming a scenic artist on productions such as Indiana Jones and Batman Hamlet and Henry V before setting up her own studio to paint for herself.
Cloes' work is divided into two main areas - landscape and the nude. Using very different techniques they aim to do the same thing. That is to capture a "moment" without loosing the immediacy and intensity of a fleeting glance, with an intuitive, innate knowledge of the subject. It is to crystalise and encapsulate an emotional intensity, a clarity of feeling and empathy with the subject - be that a dancing figure, a sleeping model or an impending storm. Sothat, although the method of working and the look is very different the aim is the same.
